As the Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance team, under the direction of the Safety & Facilities Manager, with day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Legends Global – Grand Rapids Complex. This role will require the employee to work a rotating schedule between Van Andel Arena, the Acrisure Amphitheater, and the DeVos Place Convention Center and Performance Hall. This is a part-time position with flexible working hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Capable of interacting and effectively communicating with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Able to solve problems independently
  • Able to manage time effectively
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Hours may vary based on event schedules, some weekends or evenings may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in technical trades is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Utilize building management software programs to enter asset/operational data, manage and create maintenance work orders, and provide the facilities team with accurate records
  • Work alongside the in-house maintenance staff to learn technical skills related to the industry such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. and assist as needed to complete these tasks
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating tasks or planning maintenance needs based on Event work orders
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside contractors
  • Assist the Facilities Team by setting up appointments, scheduling meetings, distributing reports, and managing correspondence between outside both contractors/vendors and other departments within the venues
  • Communicate with vendors to follow up on orders, appointments, and deliveries
  • Fulfill additional clerical/technical tasks as assigned by a supervisor
