About The Position

The Facilities Assistant position will maintain safe and efficient operations of all recycling functions at the plant. This position requires to operate a sit-down forklift to complete recycling operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of warehouse operations
• Organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
• Oral/written communications
• Operate sit-down forklift (preferred)
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
• Willing to work any shift, weekends, and some holidays
• Able to work in a very cold (36 °F) and wet environment
• Flexibility to work all shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Foster a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices
• Assists in developing solutions to specific problems through continual process improvements
• Strong teamwork attitude and communication skills
• Facilitate cross department requirements and support
• Facilitate all recycling operations including loading/unloading trailers
• Sort and segregate recyclable items from trash
• Operate a compactor, bailer, and forklifts
• Perform wooden pallet repairs as need
• Maintain recycling work centers and outside of the facility
• Train teammates and new members to the recycling team
• Complete additional tasks/duties as needed or directed
