The City of Richmond is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Worker I / II to join our team. In this vital role, you will tackle diverse maintenance tasks, from cleaning and minor repairs to pest control and graffiti removal, helping keep our city spaces clean and well-cared for. Facilities Maintenance Worker I - Performs cleaning, maintenance, and general housekeeping duties in City-owned or maintained buildings. Facilities Maintenance Worker II - Performs cleaning, maintenance, and general housekeeping duties in City-owned or maintained buildings. Maintains sites in an orderly, sanitary, insect, and rodent-free area. The City of Richmond reserves the option to hire at either the Facilities Maintenance Worker I or Facilities Maintenance Worker II level based on the candidate's qualifications and knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated during the selection process. Facilities Maintenance Worker I - is the entry-level classification in the Facilities Maintenance Worker series and is flexibly staffed with Facilities Maintenance Worker II. Incumbents in this class are assigned to a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and general housekeeping tasks of a specific or limited nature in City-owned or maintained buildings. This position is distinguished from Facilities Maintenance Worker II in that incumbents will perform limited work assignments requiring less technical skills while under direct supervision. Facilities Maintenance Worker II - is the journey level classification in the Facilities Maintenance Worker series and is flexibly staffed with Facilities Maintenance Worker I Incumbents in this class are assigned to a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and general housekeeping tasks of a specific or limited nature in City-owned or maintained buildings. This position is distinguished from Facilities Maintenance Worker I in that incumbents will perform the full range of job duties with minimal supervision The ideal candidate: Demonstrates a service-oriented and positive attitude in their interactions.
