About Pacific Fusion Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy. We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems. Our plans are ambitious. Why This Role Matters We’re looking for a dependable and observant Facilities Technician to monitor and support facility equipment during overnight hours. In this role, you’ll help ensure equipment and facility systems continue running smoothly by monitoring system status, responding to alerts, performing approved restarts, and communicating issues clearly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and being a reliable part of a larger team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic comfort with computers, screens, and monitoring software
  • Ability to follow written procedures and checklists
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay alert during overnight shifts
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed
  • Ability to work on-call on an as needed basis
  • Ability to walk the facility, stand for periods of time, and perform light physical tasks
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment, noise, and temperature variation
  • Use of required PPE in designated areas
  • Ability to respond quickly to alerts or equipment issues

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, mechanical, or facilities experience
  • Familiarity with alarms, control panels, or monitoring systems
  • Basic troubleshooting or IT/technical support experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor facility and building equipment overnight using on-site systems and monitoring software
  • Watch for alarms, alerts, or error messages and respond according to established procedures
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, including system restarts or resets when appropriate
  • Document issues, actions taken, and system status changes accurately and clearly
  • Escalate unresolved or critical issues
  • Perform routine walkthroughs and visual inspections of equipment and facility areas
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment during overnight hours
