The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance activities, budget management, ensuring optimal equipment functionality and minimizing downtime through proactive strategies while adhering to safety regulations and optimizing operational efficiency across the organization. The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor will oversee vendors and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled equipment related issues. Position Charter The Supervisor delivers excellent leadership to achieve company and department objectives, maintain a clean work environment, and coordinate sub-contractor work and ensure timely completion of work orders and PMs

Requirements

  • Preferred experience is at least 5 years of verifiable and concentrated experience in a leadership role
  • Minimum education is an Associate Degree or an Associate Degree in progress
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with different personnel throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Competent understanding of equipment and systems repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to document and effectively communicate work performed.
  • Competent at understanding use of tools and test equipment.
  • Competent problem-solving, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated the ability to make others in the area(s) better through training and a willingness to share knowledge gained through Tosoh SMD, or previous experience.
  • Must demonstrate good planning capabilities.
  • Must be able to handle all typical situations that might be encountered and demonstrate the ability to make good fundamental decisions on their own.
  • Must be able to perform all the basic, light maintenance on the equipment / facilities that they operate as well as trouble shoot minor problems.
  • Must display good leadership skills as they are the trainers and role models for the less experienced employees.
  • Must also demonstrate the ability to train others in equipment of their expertise.
  • Must display initiative and innovation.
  • Must demonstrate skill in how to initiate and follow-up ideas on improvements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
  • May work from settings requiring ladders, lifts, or from the rooftop and other situations requiring exposure to heights.
  • Frequent bending/twisting required.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager of the Maintenance and / or Facilities by contributing to the overall success and safety of the employees and contractors working in the department.
  • Act as a liaison for subcontractors, to ensure they complete the training and follow the Safety procedure established by the company
  • Work with Contractors to maintain schedule and budget
  • Work with the lead and manager to plan team meetings to discuss coordination, assign duties, set goals, address concerns, and troubleshoot problems
  • Act as link between team members and management
  • Maintain progress reports, evaluate team members’ performance, and discuss project goals, accomplishments, and shortcomings
  • Responsible for employee career progression through development plans and performance reviews.
  • Inform team members of new policies or procedures
  • Accountable for budget
  • Provide leadership, expertise, support and problem-solving daily while maintaining an elevated level of personal productivity and performance.
  • Drive training and ensure 100% on time completion of employee’s assigned training.
  • Development of team members through documented development plans.
  • Communicate at an elevated level across shifts and functions to achieve maintenance objectives
