About The Position

Carlow University invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor position in the Department of Business Management, Accounting, and Ethics (BMAE) . This position requires teaching a variety of business courses in daytime, on-campus and online modalities. This is not a fully online position, and candidates must be available to teach daytime, in-person classes on campus. The successful candidate will teach four courses in the Fall semester and four courses in the Spring semester. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will participate in academic advising, committee service, and departmental and university activities. Carlow University is a comprehensive Catholic University located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Requirements

  • Doctorate in a business-related field preferred. Candidates must possess at least a Master’s degree in a Business area.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of university teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching both in-person and online courses preferred.
  • Academic advising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four classes in the Fall semester and four classes in the Spring semester
  • Teach courses in both on-campus and online modalities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Brightspace.
  • Provide academic advising for 20–30 students, consisting of both traditional daytime students and online students.
  • Maintain at least five office hours per week.
  • Serve on at least one university or departmental committee.
  • Attend all required university, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and BMAE meetings.
  • Attend required university activities, including graduation ceremonies.
  • Assist with IACBE accreditation work during the 2026–2027 academic year.
  • Support the mission of Carlow University, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Business Management, Accounting, and Ethics.
