About The Position

Lutheran Services in Iowa has an exciting opportunity for a Family Assessment Intake Worker in Black Hawk County. DUTIES Conducts and coordinates intake assessments with families to determine appropriate programming needs designed to optimize the home environment for children and their parents through education, support and advocacy. Provide the first point of contact and respond to referral calls and inquires for services. Coordinate meetings with community partners and families. Provide outreach and meet with assigned families in person via traveling by car to their homes or other community settings and contact by telephone. Facilitate community outreach events to promote LSI programming including presentations, collaborate with other community resources, and engage referral partners. Most work occurs during normal business hours, however occasional after hours, or weekend work is required. Family Assessment Intake Workers must be knowledgeable of LSI programming options as well as community resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health or human service related field
  • Minimum of two years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Auto insurance
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check
