About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to utilize the evidence-based/high fidelity wrap-around process in conjunction with the assigned Family Support Worker to increase the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families served in the Family Support program.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field OR
  • Two (2) years of experience working with families in the welfare system, high-risk population families and lived experience
  • Present oneself, both at and outside of work, in a manner keeping with One More Child’s Core Values of Humble, Hungry, Wise, and Called.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of child welfare issues to include trauma-informed care best practices, setting boundaries, and a strength-based perspective.
  • Relate positively to caregivers needing support services and establish effective relationships in varying settings and often during challenging life circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with client and agency information.
  • Ability to complete required database documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex, practical problems and effectively deal with complex variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Availability to work flexible hours based on needs of the position.
  • Have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ and been scripturally baptized.
  • Possess a sense of commitment to ministry through vocation.
  • Hold a sincere desire to seek God and His kingdom.
  • Demonstrate personal and devotional habits and practices such as Bible study, prayer, and daily meditation.
  • Be a member of a New Testament, evangelical Church in the local community and attend regularly.
  • Engage in witness activities as a normal part of life.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and engages families in the four phases of the Wrap-Around process: (1) Engagement & Team Preparation, (2) Plan Development, (3) Implementation, and (4) Transition.
  • Facilitates Evidence-Based Interventions. To include but not limited to High Fidelity Wrap-Around Process, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Works collaboratively with families and the assigned Family Support Worker, provide targeted services and resources to promote the 6 Protective Factors within the family unit.
  • Assists families by providing direct services, tangible resources, and community referrals in order to address barriers and gaps in services, this includes but not limited to food, household items, transportation, childcare, and mental health needs.
  • Engages families in services and assists families with acquiring resources from the Family Resource Center when applicable.
  • Works collaboratively with the assigned Family Support Worker to develop a transition plan that includes a mix of social connections and concrete supports to mitigate each family’s likelihood of involvement with the child welfare system post discharge.
  • Assists the Director of Family Support with maintaining contract compliance and required reporting.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities including agency in-service training, professional seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.
  • Other assignments as needed.
