The Territory Optimization Manager designs and refines service territories and delivery routes that improve labor balance, reduce miles and minutes, and strengthen on-time performance. You’ll blend analytics with field insights, partnering closely with regional leaders, planners, and frontline teams to launch scalable route and territory models. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex logistical challenges and turning data into streamlined, real‑world operational solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years (5+ preferred) in operations, logistics, client success, or route/territory planning.
  • Experience in multi‑market or large operational environments.
  • Strong project management skills from planning through execution.
  • Advanced Excel and familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into practical, field-ready solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS/routing tools (e.g., Descartes).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer optimized territories and routes to reduce travel time, balance workload, and improve service consistency.
  • Analyze route performance, labor utilization, and time‑in‑motion data using Excel, BI tools, and GIS/routing systems.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions that boost delivery accuracy and reduce cost per service.
  • Partner with field operations to validate models, pilot new designs, and ensure plans align with real operating conditions.
  • Track and report KPIs such as on-time %, route efficiency, and labor cost per service.
  • Integrate improvements into enterprise systems with IT and BI partners.
  • Coach regional planners and lead communication, training, and change management for new territory rollouts.
  • Travel up to ~30% to support implementation and gather field input.
