The Field Support Specialist supports Concentricss automation projects by owning equipment procurement, quality control, and inventory while providing hands-on support for control system fabrication, installation, and startup. This role serves as a technical equipment expert, ensuring materials and systems are accurate, cost-effective, compliant, and delivered on schedule. The position works closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Account Managers, vendors, and field staff to support successful project execution within water and wastewater systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an Electrical or Controls Technician.
  • 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in an industrial or electrical environment.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, control panel fabrication, and Microsoft Office.
  • Perform effectively while managing shifting priorities and tight timelines.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to offices and client sites (reimbursable).

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities including pricing, ordering, tracking, receiving, and documentation.
  • Review and verify bills of materials (BOMs), part numbers, and instrument specifications.
  • Negotiate pricing, recommend alternatives, and support technical purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare material pricing and budget estimates for projects and proposals.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery, issue resolution, and competitive pricing.
  • Support inventory accuracy, asset tracking, and material availability.
  • Coordinate equipment staging, packaging, and delivery to offices, field sites, and clients.
  • Assist with inventory handling and periodic site visits as needed.
  • Perform control panel fabrication including component mounting, wiring, and testing.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of automation systems including instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA/DCS, motor controls, networking, and telemetry.
  • Provide onsite support for system startup and testing.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure materials and systems are delivered and installed on schedule.
