About The Position

As a Field Technician you will be responsible for working independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in Midstream business unit. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position will work out of the Phillips 66 Midstream office in Sheridan, WY. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics or Journeyman license in an electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation field
  • 4 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry or military
  • Working knowledge of pipelines
  • Mechanical and rotating equipment experience
  • 4 or more years of experience with the following:
  • Allen-Bradley PLC's
  • Rosemount Transmitters
  • OMNI flow computer

Responsibilities

  • Understand the methods of measurements used for custody transfer
  • Understand most common forms of measurement including the use of positive displacement meters, mass flow meters, turbine meters, and solids handling measurement
  • Interface with other internal, external and third-party industry measurement related contacts/resources
  • Work closely with the Loss Control group on issues that relate to measurement
  • Perform monthly Pipeline gain/loss analysis
  • Investigate instances of mismeasurement, computing adjustments and negotiate with other companies when necessary to settle difference in adjusted volumes
  • Provide input/suggestions into development of Phillips 66 Pipeline measurement standards to promote measurement uniformity and compliance with API measurement standards while keeping abreast of measurement trends and technology advances
  • Review/audit metering systems to ensure end-to-end integrity and accuracy
  • Review proving factors, flow computer and LC computations, data transmission, and SCADA computations
  • Schedule calibrations, inspections, audits, and other related activities with facility supervisors and other third parties
  • Participate as witness to all company and third-party prover water draws
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations and replacement of equipment as necessary:
  • Inspect and Test Pressure Regulating Systems
  • Install Threaded Pipe and Fittings o Install process Tubing and Fittings
  • Inspect and repair electrical and hydraulic valve actuators
  • Perform routine pipeline maintenance:
  • Inspect and Evaluate Buried Pipe
  • Launch and Receive Pigging Tools
  • Monitor Installation of Pipeline Crossings
  • Conduct emergency one-calls, line locates, and onsite excavation third party
  • Maintain Pipeline Right of Way
  • Maintain Pipeline Markers and Signs
  • Inspect, Operate and Maintain Valves
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork
  • Respond promptly and effectively to customer needs
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in maintaining emergency equipment
  • Complete mandated safety and regulatory training (Computer Based Training)
  • Maintain effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers and vendors
  • Perform environmental, company and regulatory checks as necessary
