About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and Consistent Attendance Select appropriate films for IMAX, RPX and other auditoriums with unique attributes. Select the most appropriate films for each theatre Scheduling the theatres to accommodate all appropriate pictures. Arrive at opinion by “screening” film, of potential revenue, or lack thereof, to forecast Day in, day out maintenance of changes in each market. Help bookers enter bookings and advance bookings Availability to film distribution and theatre personnel in making timely decisions. Information gathering of industry changes affecting position of theatres in marketplace. Specialty Film Buyers have the additional responsibility of analyzing Art film and reporting their opinion to the entire film buying team. General analysis of the marketplace and surrounding competitive theatres. General analysis of the effect of luxury seating and reserved seating changes in the marketplace.   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Six months film buying or film booking experience required.
  • Exhibition or Distributor experience is best to perform the functions of this job.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database software
  • Ability to stand
  • Ability to walk
  • Ability to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
