About The Position

Description Location: Greenville, MI Department: Final Inspection Reports to: Production Team Leader Date: February 2020 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: INSPECTION & OFFLOADING 1. Apply strong attention to detail 2. Become familiar with wheel types produced 3. Visually inspect products on the line 4. Use the DNA Appearance Standards, boundary samples, labeling guidelines and a variety of other resources to identify and properly respond to non-conforming parts, including offloading/rejects/scrap and containment procedures 5. Adhere to DNA process for quality alerts and provide assistance (as needed) to fellow team members with regard to quality response and escalation process. 6. Provide break coverage (as needed) for Operator I positions in Final Inspection, GP12 & Rework departments, including: Inspection Stations 1-4, 5-8, GP12 and Rework 7. Able to independently operate and make minor calibrations/adjustments/resets to: X-Rite Color machine, Inkjet printer and Runout machine 8. Performs paint quality testing, including but not limited to: Paint adhesion, paint film thickness and paint film hardness testing 9. Lift wheels onto /off workstation 10. Complete shift paperwork 11. Other duties as assigned REWORK & POLISHING 1. Use variety of handheld tools to polish, sand or otherwise repair minor non-conformities (pneumatic sander, safety tri-blade, gauging tool, measuring tools) 2. Lift wheels onto /off workstation and pallets 3. Complete shift paperwork 4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Hearing protection is required in certain areas. Depending on stationed work area, exposure to elevated temperatures exists. Physical Demands Employee must lift varying weights. In a small number of roles, adjusted 20/20 close vision and the ability to differentiate color within the standard color spectrum will be helpful (not a requirement). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; handle, feel; reach and lift with hands and arms; bend; twist; rotate; and frequently, to read, write, talk or hear.
