About The Position

From creating the home standby generator market category, to our current evolution into an energy technology solutions company, we continue to push new boundaries. Our internship program at Generac is designed to give students a chance to develop their business and technical skills by assisting with ongoing and project related activities within our finance department. This internship will introduce the candidate to the Deductions and Credit finance functions. In addition, the candidate will support various continuous improvement (CI) projects. The position is a full-time summer internship with potential to extend to part time status during the school year. This position is onsite at our headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant business discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, organized, inquisitive, and have a willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Conscientious, self-motivated worker with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a group setting

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor’s program with an emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Sophomore status (at least 48 credits completed by June 2026) and in good academic standing
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands requiring initiative and independence.
  • Interest or familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly research, analyze, and validate customer deductions for product shortages, damages, pricing discrepancies, promotions, advertising, or other debits taken by customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is obtained through use of customer portal, emails, or other means and that it is sufficient to support credit issuance or collection of invalid deductions.
  • Assist with managing incoming emails to the Credit Department distributing items to the appropriate individuals
  • Excel reporting as needed.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.
