About The Position

Assists the Accounting Manager with review and coordination in the preparation of all financial and operating reports of all departments; posts financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records; ensures Colusa Casino Resort compliance with all government financial payment and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have thorough knowledge of accounting principles and have a Bachelor’s (B.A.) or an associated degree (A.A.) from an accredited University, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Office including Excel is required
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform assigned job duties under constant time pressures.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently use a ten-key pad.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Organizational, prioritizing and record keeping skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must meet standards established for a key gaming license.
  • Must pass initial drug screen and random drug tests conducted thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Accounting Manager in month end procedures
  • Prepares monthly General Ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations
  • May assist with bi-weekly Payroll processing
  • May assist with Accounts Payable processing
  • Prepares and inputs journal entries.
  • Prepares and files all required tax payments and information returns including but not limited to those required by the Colusa Community Indian Council, the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California
  • Assists with and maintains Casino-wide records for fixed assets and the fixed asset subsidiary ledger.
  • Monitors and reports all obsolete assets and make recommendations for their disposal.
  • Performs other general office and accounting duties as directed by the Accounting Manager.
  • Adheres to all personnel and department policies and procedures.
  • Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management.
  • Assists in the completion of special projects, as needed.
  • Assists internal staff and independent auditors in the preparation of various schedules needed in conjunction with the annual audit.
  • Abides by Casino’s confidentiality policies.
