About The Position

Reporting to the Nutrition Program Manager (NPM), the Food Service Associate (FSA) is responsible for providing daily support to the NPM, with specific responsibility for receiving and daily/weekly food delivery to approved sites, and site compliance monitoring of meal services to ensure accuracy and compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. Essential Functions Food Delivery & Service: Receives and verify accuracy of food shipment deliveries to storage facility. Sort, label and arrange food shipment for next day delivery. Loading, unloading, and transporting food from food storage facility to program sites. Food Monitoring & Quality Control: Checking food quality upon shipment delivery, ensuring proper storage (labeling/dating), and verifying that items meet safety standards. Sanitation: Maintaining a proper and clean food storage facility and delivery vehicle. Inventory Control: Stocking, rotating products, and removing expired items. Site Program Monitoring: Conduct announced and unannounced on-site food program inspections/monitoring visits. Verify menu compliance, food storage and service delivery, review records for accuracy, document findings, and offer technical assistance where possible. Qualifications and Skills Experience in food service, childcare, or nutrition-related fields. Understanding of USDA, CACFP, or SFSP regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with providers. Attention to detail and experience with record-keeping. Typical Work Environment Food Service Associate often travel between various sites, including Boys & Girls Clubs facilities, community recreation centers, or schools, acting as a liaison between the sponsoring organization and the food provider. Education and Experience Requirements High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency required. Must be able to successfully pass a multi-level criminal background check. Must have a valid State of Georgia driver’s license. Experience working with Department of Early Care and Learning – Bright from the Start SERV Safe certificate and/or culinary background, highly desirable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIORNMENT: It is necessary to adapt to a frequently changing environment. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Frequent ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. Must occasionally talk and hear. Specific vision abilities are required but this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports and properly document programs and organizational data. Relationships: (Internal) Maintains close, daily contact with Nutrition Program Manager, Club and Center Directors, and Senior Leadership Team members.
