The FCH Recruiter provides and supports foster care and adoption services, by working to provide safe, secure care for children in a family setting until they can be reunited with their birth families or other permanent plan can be implemented. Develops and implements a foster care and adoption recruitment plan including purpose, specific goals, plan of action with timeline, and estimated costs. Develops and maintains relationships with referring agencies, DCF, JJA, and others, assessing their needs for foster care placements and keeping them informed of progress. Recruits foster and adoptive families through advertisements, contacts, speaking engagements, community activities, and/or referring agencies. Completes written documentation of training for prospective foster families. Develops a support system and resources for prospective resource families and assist them in utilizing those supports. Participates in team meetings, sharing pertinent information regarding recruitment and resource development. Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours. Conducts PS-MAPP and Deciding Together preparation for prospective resource families. Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms. Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures. Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels. Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
