About The Position

Foster Program Coordinator Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) $16.00–$17.00/hour At HSHC, we believe every animal deserves more than shelter—they deserve a path to healing, stability, and a loving home. As a Foster Program Coordinator, you are the driving force behind that journey. You will connect animals to foster homes, support those families through every step, and ensure each placement is thoughtful, timely, and set up for success. This role sits at the intersection of animal care, human connection, and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Background in animal sheltering, veterinary care, or related field
  • Experience with neonatal kittens/puppies and specialized feeding
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and database systems (PetPoint a plus)
  • Problem-solver with initiative
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure
  • Passionate about animal welfare and community impact
  • Aligned with a No-Kill philosophy
  • Comfortable in an environment with animal sounds, smells, and allergens
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and events

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for foster families, volunteers, and staff
  • Identify animals in need of foster care and match them with appropriate homes
  • Respond to medical, behavioral, and general foster concerns quickly and effectively
  • Partner with Medical and Behavior teams to ensure immediate needs are addressed
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain foster families
  • Coordinate appointments, treatments, and foster returns
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in PetPoint
  • Support program operations and step into leadership responsibilities as needed
  • Contribute to a culture that reflects our “Whatever It Takes” commitment
