About The Position

Founder’s Associate (Strategic Partner to the President) Who We Are: Saalt empowers people to care for their periods in a healthy and sustainable way. We do this by creating high-performance products and stigma-breaking branding that engage customers and communities, pioneering the way to bring sustainable, clean period care to the mainstream consumer. Saalt invests in women and communities across the globe through period care donations, and by funding scholarships and life skills training to change generations. As a certified B Corp, we strive to be the change we seek in the world, conduct business knowing that people and planet matter and aspire to use business as a force for good to benefit all. We create modern reusable period care without the toxins, the chemicals, and the wrappers you throw away every month. We commit to do more with less, make deliberate choices about our bodies, and believe everyone should know what their cervix is. Our team is based in beautiful Boise, Idaho. www.saalt.com The Opportunity: The IRL MBA I am Jon Hoeger, serial entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Saalt (a growing 8-figure B Corp and nationally recognized brand). I have launched successful businesses, failed at others, and navigated Saalt through COVID and a very difficult consumer market over the past two years both growing the topline and improving the bottom line. I am not looking for an assistant. I am looking for a force multiplier. I am looking for someone who wants to learn the art of entrepreneurship (and participate in the ups and downs of the journey) by sitting in the cockpit with me. You will work alongside me at Saalt, help me vet and invest in other ventures, and manage personal affairs. In exchange for managing the operational chaos of my business and personal life, you will get a front-row seat to deal flow, acquisitions, leadership and management, and high-level strategy. Who You Are I am a Visionary (Kolbe: 9 Quick Start). I like to dream, move fast, break things, and have too many ideas to execute on. You will be the person to help filter those ideas, prioritize the best ones, and make them come to life. You are a Finisher: When I say "we should buy a business," you don't just nod; you understand what that means. You go and find the listing, sign the NDA, analyze the P&L, and put a diligence summary on my desk. You are a "Fact Finder:" Though I thrive on intuition, I have a high tolerance for and even demand data and details. You love data too. You can read legal docs and contracts without your eyes glazing over, and you are fluent in financial statements; you can pull the wisdom out of a BS and IS and tell me if something is a good investment or too much of a risk. You Have No Ego: You are smart enough to sit in a Leadership Team meeting at 11:00 AM, and humble enough to meet the plumber at my house to fix a sink at 2:00 PM. No task is "below" you if it buys my focus. What You Will Do Your job is to protect my time, optimize my present and future, and execute my vision. You will work across three categories: 1. Saalt & Business Operations (The "Maximizer" Work) EOS Optimization: Saalt has an integrator. Your job is to optimize my impact across the organization and ensure "Traction" with anything I’m involved in. Ensure meetings have agendas, and I know where I need to be and what I need to contribute. Prioritize my to-do list and question if there is a higher and better use of my time. Take over and complete tasks, to-dos, and action on emails from my inbox that you can take care of without me. Hold me accountable for critical deliverables and make sure action items are completed. Special Projects: Lead ad-hoc initiatives and experiments (e.g., a marketing audit, a new software rollout) that don't fit into a specific department’s bucket. Product Development: Help me work on new products and coordinate with potential manufacturers. Engage in the design thinking process to identify critical UVPs and go-to-market angles for new products. Follow up on samples, testing, and manage the prototyping process. Information Synthesis: Sit in on high-level meetings, take notes, and synthesize the "So What?" for me. 2. New Ventures & Investments (The "Future CEO" Work) Deal Flow: Screen potential business acquisitions or investments. Run the initial financial analysis and risk assessment. Due Diligence: Dive deep into future opportunities. Research markets, review financials, make recommendations, and build summaries. Coordinate legal, financial, and operational checks on new investment opportunities. Interface with bankers and attorneys to keep the deal on track. Build New: Analyze and prioritize potential opportunities and ideas for new products. Help me rapid test on which ones should move forward and what should wait. Incubation: Take a "napkin idea" I have and turn it into a concrete project plan (market research, MVP definition, budget, etc.). 3. Life Operations (The "Chief of Life" Work) The "Life Admin" Stack: You own the logistics of my life, so I can own the vision of the company. This will include a list of sundry categories like contractors for home repairs, managing personal investment paperwork, coordinating tax filings, scheduling oil changes, registering kids for school, and booking complex family travel or tickets for events. Gatekeeping: You manage my inbox and calendar, ruthlessly prioritizing what actually requires my brainpower vs. what can be delegated or deleted. You also just solve everything you can do without my involvement. Why You Should Apply You will be paid a strong salary to get a "Master’s Degree" in real-world business. You will see everything—the bank accounts, the legal fights, the strategy sessions, and the wins. Success in this role could easily result in promotion to senior leadership in a new venture. Help me create opportunity and you will directly benefit from and maybe even take over and run some of those opportunities. To Apply: Do not send a generic cover letter. Send a resume and tell me why you’re the perfect candidate. Please include a story about the one operational bottleneck you solved in your last role that saved the most time or money. The hiring process will involve multiple interviews with me and senior leadership team members at Saalt (virtual and in person), a work sample, reference checks, and personality/skills assessment(s). At Saalt, we immerse our Team in an exceptional work environment with opportunities to learn and grow. You will be surrounded by colleagues who are committed to ensuring your success. If you are looking to make an impact on the world, Saalt is the place for you. Saalt is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status under applicable law.

Requirements

  • Business Acumen: You must be able to read a Balance Sheet and an Income Statement and tell me a narrative about the company, ask smart questions, and recommend where to make improvements. If you don't know the difference between Gross Margin and Contribution Margin or EBITDA and Net Income, this isn't for you.
  • Tech Stack: Fluency in project management tools and an ability to learn new software quickly. Google/Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, and AI tools to speed up workflows.
  • Local: Must be based in the Treasure Valley (Boise/Meridian/Eagle). This is a high-touch, high-trust role. Saalt’s office is near downtown Boise, and my home is in NE Meridian.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience. You might be a former founder, a project manager, a business analyst, or an operations lead who is tired of corporate bureaucracy and wants to build things.
  • Adaptability: You’re not just okay with change; you actually worry about life being repetitive or boring. You can handle competing priorities and don’t get flustered when calendars shift or focus changes rapidly.
  • Extreme Integrity: You’re completely trustworthy and do the right thing simply because it is the right thing. You’ll be privy to a lot of sensitive and confidential information.
