About The Position

mpathic is keeping humans safe in the AI era with experts and software that are rooted in psychology and powered by clinicians. We work with leading AI model builders, application layers and clinical researchers to understand and protect people, reducing the world’s biggest human risks. We're looking for an FP&A Analyst who thrives in fast-moving environments and wants to have a meaningful impact on AI Safety. As our first FP&A hire on this Series A Finance team, you'll report directly to the VP of Finance and People Operations. Your mission is to manage forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to help the company make smart decisions quickly. You'll partner closely with the leadership team to budget, model, and improve key financial metrics. And you'll support preparation of board materials and investor relations as we prepare for a Series B raise. This is a full-time role with a fast-track opportunity for growth as the company continues to expand.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • Have 3-5 years of FP&A experience in tech, B2B SaaS, and/or AI services industries
  • Are comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with cross-functional stakeholders across product, go-to-market, and operations teams
  • Know how to build complex models from scratch that are easy to understand and explain to non-finance audiences
  • Have strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
  • Possess exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills—you dig into the "why" behind the numbers
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence, and empathy across all levels of the organization
  • Are energized by feedback, iteration, and figuring out what works in a high-growth environment
  • Take ownership, care deeply about outcomes, and lead with integrity

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain our budgets & forecasts across revenue, headcount, and opex plans, keeping data accurate, up-to-date, and board-ready
  • Help teams build and maintain realistic budgets that meet the needs of a fast-growing business, while championing operational discipline and excellence
  • Partner with our fractional accountants to support the financial close process related to accruals and budget vs actuals analysis, ensuring quick and clean close-to-reporting workflows
  • Support Series B fundraising preparation including investor-ready financial materials, scenario modeling, and data room documentation
  • Take ownership of maintaining our financial model, tracking key metrics and informing decisions around sales, pricing, packaging, margins, and distribution
  • Track and analyze KPIs & unit economics key to our business success to identify opportunities, diagnose problems and spot trends early
  • Develop executive and operational dashboards and build out our in-house BI reporting capabilities
  • Act as a strategic partner to support senior leaders in building models and providing financial analysis to support the decision-making process
