About The Position

As an FP&A Partner supporting the Corporate Team, you’ll serve as a trusted financial advisor to business unit Leaders, bringing expertise in operational and financial drivers to guide decisions and sharpen performance. You’ll own the flash process end‑to-end—coordinating across multiple Teams, consolidating forecasts, challenging assumptions, and delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial updates. With strong business acumen and an Executive presence, you’ll translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives through high‑impact presentations that influence Sr Leadership. By pairing analytical strength with strategic partnership, you’ll help shape financial clarity and drive meaningful results across the enterprise. Requirements

  • Knowledge of financial principles and practices and how to utilize them, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and data analytics
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Skilled and effective communicator that is engaged, considerate, listens to and guides their audience, takes time to ask questions and respond accordingly, speaks clearly, with confidence, and is gracious in their interactions.
  • Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization’s strategic plan
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
  • Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in: Building strong and trusting relationships with business Customers Problem-solving and searching for solutions Modeling/forecasting improvement
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • 2–5 years of FP&A or applicable experience at a large company, ideally within the airline industry
  • Strong analyst capabilities, including proactive problem-solving, ability to drive deliverables to completion, and owning projects end-to-end

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic and financial partner with Department Leaders, Consultants, and/or Senior Partners in determining key strategic business objectives by influencing business decisions and by providing proactive recommendations, supported by strong financial analysis and “Storytelling”
  • Participate in strategy development and planning, facilitate the financial planning processes, and develop metrics to monitor performance against strategic objectives
  • Deliver timely financial analytics, provide insights into variances, and offer business counsel to measure business performance and strategic initiative progress, and interpret and make effective recommendations to Leadership using benchmarking, trends, and other planning methods
  • Translate business and industry data into actionable insights and KPIs to ensure the best decision for Southwest
  • Serve as a financial expert to multiple levels of Business Leadership by interpreting complex financial information and support the organization in decision-making, communication, and collaboration with key Stakeholders to ensure they are educated on trade-offs and downstream impacts of decisions
  • Build compelling Executive level presentations, including Board of Directors and Earnings-related materials
  • Monitors business performance and KPI’s.
  • Provide consultation services to leadership on the use and interpretation of analyses, reports, methodologies, and source data systems
  • Support the businesses in executing its strategic/operational objectives and undertake ad hoc analyses and special projects
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
