About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) RN to join a community-based emergency facility in Tallahassee, Florida. This role requires strong autonomy, critical thinking, and the ability to stabilize and manage a wide range of emergency conditions prior to transfer if higher-level care is needed. The FSED RN must be confident functioning in a smaller team environment while delivering safe, efficient emergency care.

Requirements

Active Florida RN license or multistate license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ER experience (critical care experience accepted).
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma.
BLS certification prior to start date.
ACLS certification. (Within 90 Days of Hire)
PALS certification. (Within 90 Days of Hire)
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI). (Within 90 Days of Hire)

Nice To Haves

BSN degree.
Prior freestanding ED experience.

Responsibilities

Triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages presenting with urgent and emergent conditions.
Provide rapid assessment and initiate emergency interventions.
Manage multiple cases simultaneously while prioritizing patient safety.
Administer medications and emergency therapies as ordered.
Coordinate patient transfers when higher-acuity services are required.
Deliver clear discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations.
Collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
