About The Position

General Foreman – Telecom Construction (Fiber/Coax/Underground) Level: Intermediate Work Type: Field-Based – BAU Construction Projects Are you a natural leader who thrives in the field and enjoys coordinating people, schedules, and technical work? This General Foreman role offers the opportunity to oversee daily telecom construction operations, guide teams, and ensure high‑quality outcomes for ongoing BAU (Business As Usual) projects. You’ll play a key role in planning, scheduling, customer communication, and project execution — all while maintaining a strong safety culture and supporting productive, well-coordinated field operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in fiber optic, coax, or underground construction.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication — professional, clear, and customer‑focused.
  • Ability to maintain long-term customer relationships through reliability and follow-through.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling abilities.
  • Critical thinking for resolving technical challenges and estimating time and materials.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills — professional, approachable, and tactful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project planning tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Daily Safety Efforts
  • Review all Job Site Analyses (JSAs) each day and provide coaching to crews.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings for internal crews and subcontractors.
  • Perform weekly Job Site Observations (JSOs) to ensure compliance and reinforce safety standards.
  • Ensure Financial Accuracy & Documentation
  • Review crew timesheets every morning for accurate billing units.
  • Confirm subcontractors submit units and redlines daily.
  • Create and submit accurate redlines for all completed work.
  • Track, request, and obtain written approvals for all change orders.
  • Manage Daily Operations & Field Execution
  • Update and submit daily logs covering all work performed, including subcontractor activity.
  • Address and resolve escalations within 24 hours.
  • Prioritize work appropriately to ensure schedules, deliverables, and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee productivity and performance of both internal crews and subcontractors.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Manage restoration activities — scheduling, inspections, documentation, and change orders.
  • Open, close, and schedule all inspections required by permits.
