The General labor person will work in collaboration with management to ensure a safe and orderly work environment. The person will work daily with tow motor operations, driving company vehicles, and overhead crane operations. Basic carpentry skills to fabricate custom size crates for shipping of finished products.

Requirements

Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a manufacturing plant environment. (certification not required)
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Competent/comfortable with use of information technology.
Physical ability to handle manual labor and to be on feet all day long.
Valid driver’s license without major violations required.

Nice To Haves

Overhead crane operation experience preferred.
Basic carpentry skills for crate fabrication
Prior experience in manufacturing or a similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials in warehouse and yard
Operate overhead cranes, or other moving or lifting equipment.
Operate material handling equipment safely.
Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Follow established safety procedures and report any safety concerns immediately.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
