About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Worker lll. The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work. Clean roof drains and gutters. Responsible for replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors. Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings. Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Caulking plumbing kitchen fixtures Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensure completed work meets quality control standards. Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors. Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of building and ground maintenance.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Per our government contract, 2.7.2.6, “No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of work unless satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship is furnished.”
