About The Position

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support a government contract based at Mayport / Jacksonville, Florida. Summary: Performs duties described in the Service Contract Act Service Order GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee’s current rate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years general maintenance prior experience
  • Verifiable experience in Fence Installation
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
  • Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Performs all duties as described above and is proficient in the installation and repair of fences and fencing systems. Types of fencing to include, but not limited to, wooden; chain-link; barbed wire; and PVC.
  • Additionally, had practical skills and knowledge (but not proficiency) in roof repair and the ability to patch small roof leaks.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
