About The Position

Bullitt County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a surface General Utility Person for our operation located in Shepherdsville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
Being trained in various other entry level production positions and filling in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times
Operate equipment, including but not limited to: skid steer and loader. Experience is preferred.
Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable
Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
• Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to learn quickly
• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
