The Center for Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Genetics (CFMRG) at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital is a dynamic reproductive program with opportunities to counsel patients with genetic issues related to reproductive and prenatal genetics. Common indications for patient care include carrier screening, aneuploidy and diagnostic tests during pregnancy, ultrasound anomalies, reproductive testing including preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), family history of genetic conditions and teratogen risk assessment. This individual also serves as a resource to patients and medical staff regarding genetic issues and is involved in developing new programs for patient and staff as needed to advance the Center for Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Genetics. The genetic counselor will work closely with patients during stressful times and provide support and education about sensitive issues.
