No guarantee of hours. Responsibilities include buying, pricing, displaying, and selling quality merchandise at reasonable prices for the convenience of patients, visitors, and employees. Cashiering / money handling practices and providing an exceptional guest experience and positive volunteer relationships.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities with previous public contact experience; relate to the public in a warm and cheerful manner.
  • Effectively read, write and orally communicate using the English language.
  • Must relate effectively with providers, staff, patients and public and function as part of a team.
  • Must be self-directed and work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish the responsibilities of this position; apply logic and good judgement to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Respond calmly in emergency situations.
  • Remain organized and flexible in response to changing demands.
  • Manage a high volume of work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the daily operation of the gift shop.
  • Supports maintaining adequate everyday inventory to drive sales and guest satisfaction, including communication with vendors.
  • Assists with purchasing, receiving, pricing, and displaying appropriate merchandise.
  • Ensures the shop consistently meets all safety and infection prevention requirements.
  • Assist in staffing of shop hours and training of volunteers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate monthly and annual reports, including daily tracking of monthly sales goal.
  • Assist with financial accountabilities for all aspects of the retail operation, which may include POS and inventory/pricing operations and daily sales reports, daily deposits, payroll deduction reconciliation, inventory par-levels and ordering, special event accounting, shrinkage, and year-end inventory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned as requested for successful store operations.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
