About The Position

Milacron is looking for a Director, Tactical Supply Chain to join our team in Batavia, OH. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and developing the global tactical supply organization to ensure operational excellence, supply continuity, and alignment with enterprise sourcing strategies. You will provide strategic oversight of tactical procurement activities, supplier performance management, inventory optimization, and supply chain process standardization across the organization. You will partner closely with Strategic Sourcing, Operations, Finance, and Engineering leadership to drive supply chain efficiency, improve supplier performance, and implement systems and tools that enhance visibility, productivity, and scalability. This leader is accountable for developing high-performing teams, establishing global standards, and ensuring the organization meets operational, financial, and customer delivery objectives. Work You’ll Do: Leadership & Organizational Development Lead, mentor, and develop the tactical supply chain team to build a high-performing, accountable, and continuously improving organization. Establish a globally aligned tactical supply team with standardized processes, best practices, and consistent performance metrics. Foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across supply chain functions. Operational Strategy & Supply Chain Performance Oversee day-to-day tactical procurement operations to ensure material availability, supplier performance, and alignment with production and customer delivery requirements. Drive supply chain efficiency by implementing standardized processes, performance management frameworks, and operational best practices. Ensure purchase orders are placed with approved suppliers aligned with category strategies, capacity planning, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) objectives including freight, tariffs, and material cost. Systems, Tools & Process Innovation Identify, evaluate, and implement systems and automation tools to improve supply chain productivity and visibility, including supplier portals, EDI integration, robotic process automation (RPA), and ERP enhancements. Partner with IT and operational leaders to drive digital transformation initiatives that improve tactical supply processes and reporting capabilities. Lead initiatives to enhance ERP functionality and automation including tools such as JDE enhancements, automated allocation processes, and advanced planning capabilities. Supplier Performance & Risk Management Monitor and drive supplier performance against key metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), quality, responsiveness, and capacity. Identify supplier performance trends and lead corrective actions including recovery plans, performance improvement initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies. Participate in supplier scorecards and lead supply team reviews with key suppliers on a monthly and quarterly basis. Provide actionable insights and performance feedback to the Strategic Sourcing team to support long-term supplier strategy and sourcing decisions. Inventory & Supply Planning Lead inventory management initiatives including Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and material planning strategies to optimize working capital and achieve annual raw material inventory reduction goals. Ensure alignment between supply planning, procurement activities, and operational demand requirements. Proactively manage supply risks and disruptions, ensuring timely communication and escalation to internal stakeholders and supplier leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Operations, Engineering, Logistics, Finance, and Strategic Sourcing to align tactical supply activities with broader business objectives. Serve as a key escalation point for supply disruptions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges. Provide leadership visibility into supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities through data-driven reporting and insights. Continuous Improvement & Industry Leadership Maintain current knowledge of supply chain industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain agility, efficiency, and resilience. Drive accountability across the supply organization to achieve financial, operational, and customer service targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management
  • Proven experience leading multi-site or global supply chain teams
  • Demonstrated success driving supply chain transformation, operational improvements, and supplier performance
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain technology platforms
  • Must be able to travel internationally at least 30% or more of time
