About The Position

If you like to be up early and work outside this could be what you are looking for. Morning shifts starts at 5:00am, 7 days a week. Weekend shifts are 3-4 hours. Flexible days and hours could be available between 5:ooam and 1:30pm Monday through Friday. No experience required. JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION Mows, aerates, grades, seeds, sods, waters, rakes and polices tees, greens and fairways Diagnoses and controls weeds, diseases and insects Applies fertilizer and fungicide, as needed Operates trucks, mowers, sod cutters, chain saws, hand and power tools and all other maintenance and mechanical equipment Prepares and cleans beds, plants, trims, prunes, mulches, waters, weeds, stakes, fertilizes, rakes, shovels, digs, spreads wood chips, back fills and levels soil to complete and maintain grounds and horticultural projects Operates tractors, mowing AHPD OVERVIEW The Arlington Heights Park District (AHPD) is a public park and recreation agency located in Arlington Heights, Illinois—one of the largest communities in Chicago's prestigious northwest suburban corridor. Requirements

  • High school graduate or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of one to two years’ experience in golf course or grounds maintenance
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Valid Illinois Class “D” Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Illinois Pesticide Public Operators License and/or valid Illinois Applicator License in turf, ornamentals or right of way preferred
  • CPR and AED Certification preferred

Responsibilities
