About The Position

Position Summary... What you'll do... This role provides strategic and technical leadership for building and scaling core Catalog platform that serve as systems of record for Walmart US, powering downstream experiences across Search, Marketplace, Supply Chain, and Analytics. The leader will drive platform excellence, partnering to realize complex business needs through durable platform capabilities, and lead globally distributed teams with a strong people‑first mindset. What You’ll Do : Set and execute the platform vision for large‑scale Global Catalog data and engineering systems, partnering and influencing deeply with key product, business, and technology stakeholders to evolve platform roadmaps, strengthen platform contracts, and deliberately move the ecosystem toward a mature, reusable, and resilient platform. Own reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of mission‑critical Catalog platforms that serve as systems of record and power multiple downstream consumers. Operate with startup agility and enterprise rigor, driving fast, iterative execution while maintaining strong architectural discipline, operational standards, and long-term platform health, to enable scalable reuse, faster product delivery, and consistent outcomes across the US retail ecosystem. Embed AI‑first thinking into the platform, enabling responsible use of applied AI and automation to improve platform capabilities, developer productivity, and downstream product innovation. Build and lead high‑performing, inclusive global teams, with a strong focus on engineering rigor, talent development, and sustainable execution. Experience building and leading inclusive, high‑performing teams across geographies, with a strong commitment to talent development and growing senior technical leadership. Strong cross‑functional influence and partnership skills, with the ability to align engineering, product, data science, and business stakeholders around shared platform outcomes.

Requirements

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 10 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ supervisory experience.
