About The Position

GROWL Leader Division: Support Services Department: First Year Experience Experience: Entry-level Job Code: NA Supervisor of Student Employee(s): Sara Coots Requested Start Date: 3/15/2026 Responsibilities and Career Competencies: Attend 8 in-person GROWL sessions on campus. (P) Work as a team with professional staff and other GROWL Leaders to set up and prep for in-person sessions the afternoon before GROWL date. (TW. CTR) Reach out to students prior to them attending GROWL (both in-person and virtual sessions) to introduce yourself, provide information regarding the session, and answer questions as needed. (C, P, CSD, CT, L) Reach out to students via text/phone in the weeks following their GROWL session for both in-person and virtual. Messages will include reminders about deadlines/missing information, build excitement about UPIKE FIRST Week, and to answer questions. (C, P, P, CSD, T) Manage contact log populated by GROWL Leaders to document communication with GROWL attendees. (CSD, T) Competencies/Skills: Communication (C), Teamwork (TW), Professionalism (P), Career & Self Development (CSD), Critical Thinking (CT), Community Transformation (CTR), Leadership (L), Technology (T) Other Skills: Attention to detail, Strong active listening abilities, Public speaking, Written & verbal communication, Customer focused, Willingness to learn new things Work Schedule: Hours Vary Work Conditions: Heat, Light Intensity, Noise, Physical Demands: Lifting up to 10 lbs., carrying up to 10lbs Number of Positions: 10 Hours needed per week: varies Pay Rate: Hourly pay $8.75 from March 15th-May 1st Switched to Stipend pay after May 1st $125 for each in-person GROWL session $125 stipend to be paid June 30 based on oversight and support of GROWL Leaders completing contact log from May 1-June 30. $125 stipend to be paid August 15 based on oversight and support of GROWL Leaders completing contact log from July 1- August 15.
