About The Position

This position will assist The Duckhorn Portfolio’s Central Coast Winemaking team with fermentation monitoring, wine tracking, and data management during the 2026 harvest season. This is a unique opportunity to work with premiere vineyards and custom crush facilities throughout California’s Central Coast. The multi-faceted nature of this position allows for many learning opportunities over the course of harvest. Our ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. The estimated time frame for this position is August 24th through November 13th.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and stay on task
  • Computer skills, including Excel and Winery Software experience preferred
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Viticulture or Enology coursework or degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Track fermentations and pull samples from tanks.
  • Maintain wine tracking software and winemaking spreadsheets.
  • Process all weigh tags into winemaking software.
  • Manage all grape maturity analysis (Brix, pH and TA) in basic laboratory setting and accurately record all data before sending out daily maturity reports.
  • Evaluate grape loads as they arrive at custom crush winery locations, as needed.
  • Support Winemaker and Viticulturist with logistics and special projects, as needed.
  • Sampling vineyards in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, as needed.
