About The Position

Cold Heading machine operators work under minimal supervision to operate and perform basic setups of traditional cold heading machines and progressive headers. Strong familiarity with header tooling and part progressions is needed. This role requires intermediate competencies in print reading and inspection processes, as well as basic troubleshooting. Shift: Candidates should be available for either a Day or Night shift, with a 10-hour schedule Cold Heading Machine Operator Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Set up and operate cold heading machines performing multi-operation tasks on large National cold formers. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and other inspection tools to ensure compliance with quality specifications. Read and correctly interpret blueprints, work orders, tool layouts, and part progressions to determine tolerances and operational sequences. Adjust controls, wedges, brass settings, and other components to synchronize machine operations, set pressures, and depths of ram strokes. Observe operations to detect malfunctions and verify that setups conform to specifications at all times. Remove and replace tooling as needed when production runs are completed or when tooling is worn, broken, or out of print. Perform developmental setups and prototyping on new parts. Operate forklifts and hand trucks to move materials and supplies safely. Work safely under functional safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE. Collaborate effectively in a team environment, following instructions and assisting coworkers as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
