About The Position

The Healthcare Coverage Outreach and Enrollment Specialist helps Southeast clients and community residents who lack access to healthcare and health insurance. This role provides enrollment and application assistance while building and strengthening partnerships with local organizations. The Specialist supports outreach and enrollment initiatives to identify underserved populations and help them access available healthcare coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, communications or related program or equivalent experience working with high needs populations.
• Knowledge of healthcare settings; health insurance programs and public coverage options.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of current insurance coverage

Responsibilities

• Assist uninsured children and adults with enrolling in the Ohio Health Insurance Exchange, Medicaid, and Medicare by completing applications, gathering documentation, and resolving enrollment issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans, subsidies, tax implications, and Medicaid programs.
• Collaborate with community partners and participate in outreach initiatives to promote healthcare coverage enrollment.
• Educate patients about health coverage options, provide follow-up support, and assist with renewals.
• Distribute enrollment materials and attend community events to increase awareness and encourage enrollment in available health coverage programs.
