Where We Need You: Protiviti is seeking a Revenue Cycle Transformation Manager to join our growing Healthcare practice. What You Can Expect: As a Manager, you will lead revenue cycle initiatives for healthcare clients, partnering with finance, operations, and clinical leaders to address complex challenges across the revenue cycle. You will manage projects end‑to-end, from assessment through implementation, and play a key role in turning insights into practical, sustainable improvements. You will oversee project teams, manage timelines and deliverables, and support executive decision‑making with data‑driven recommendations. Managers contribute to account growth by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals, and helping expand trusted client relationships. Beyond client delivery, you will support team development by mentoring consultants and senior consultants, sharing best practices, and contributing to internal capabilities and thought leadership within the healthcare practice. What Will Help You Be Successful: Lead complex engagements with confidence, balancing delivery quality, client expectations, and team performance. Identify improvement opportunities and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. Support value creation by helping define success metrics and quantifying operational and financial impact. Communicate effectively with client leaders, adapting messages for executive and operational audiences. Collaborate across teams while developing others and contributing to practice growth, including executing engagements in both audit/assessment as well as consultative environments. Experience leading revenue cycle improvement initiatives across hospitals, physician groups, or integrated health systems. Ability to assess current state operations, identify root causes, and design practical process and performance improvements. Comfort working with revenue cycle data and KPIs to support decision making and performance tracking. Experience translating findings into clear recommendations and implementation plans. Strong project management skills, including managing scope, timelines, and multiple workstreams. Interest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, IT, Healthcare Administration, HIM, Economics, or Business).
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, advisory services, compliance, internal audit, or provider revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience working with top commercial electronic health record systems, including Epic (Resolute HB/PB, Cadence, Prelude, or related modules); Epic certification a plus.
  • Strong understanding of reimbursement, payer regulations, CMS guidelines, and revenue integrity practices.
  • Experience building analyses, dashboards, or models to support operational and financial improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare industry specific certifications (e.g., CHIAP, CRCR, CHFP, CHC, CHPC, CHRC, CRIP, CHRI, etc.), or similar a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leading revenue cycle assessments across multiple healthcare clients to evaluate operational effectiveness, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serving as the primary client‑facing manager for complex engagements, facilitating executive‑level discussions with CFOs and other senior financial, operational, and clinical leaders.
  • Translating complex operational findings into clear, actionable executive recommendations.
  • Managing project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and client communications to ensure high-quality consulting outcomes.
  • Assessing and redesign revenue cycle workflows including those from patient access to cash collections and posting.
  • Identifying root causes of revenue leakage and developing corrective action plans.
  • Designing and implementing process improvement initiatives to improve KPIs such as Days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial and net collection rate, avoidable adjustments, charge lag, etc.
  • Analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly revenue cycle performance metrics.
  • Developing executive dashboards and reporting tools to support client decision-making.
  • Providing benchmarking analysis and financial impact modeling to quantify ROI opportunities.
  • Monitoring operational and financial indicators to proactively identify risks and performance gaps.
  • Advising clients on CMS regulations, third-party payor guidelines, and state/federal reimbursement policies.
  • Ensuring revenue cycle processes align with compliance requirements and payer contract terms.
  • Supporting clients in mitigating timely filing risk and audit exposure.
  • Leading implementation of redesigned workflows and operational protocols.
  • Developing policies, procedures, and training materials to support future-state processes.
  • Facilitating staff education sessions and leadership workshops to drive adoption.
  • Guiding clients through operational transitions from current-state to optimized future-state environments.
  • Supervising and mentoring consultants and senior consultants on engagements.
  • Supporting proposal development, RFP responses, and scope-of-work creation.
  • Contributing to thought leadership, best practices, and internal capability development.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships to expand consulting opportunities.
