About The Position

Campbell Hall, founded in 1944 and situated on 15 naturally landscaped acres in Studio City, California, is an independent, gender inclusive, college preparatory, Episcopal day school for students in kindergarten through grade twelve. The Academic Dean shall report to the High School Principal and assist the Principal in the organization, administration, and supervision of all High School personnel, instruction, curriculum, and communication as it pertains to the academic program and student scheduling.

Requirements

  • Experience with PowerSchool SIS or similar database
  • Strong aptitude for use of technology
  • Experience in master scheduling preferred
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Works with a high level of efficiency and adheres to deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years of high school level administrative experience or curriculum/instruction leadership
  • Minimum of 5 years of high school teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Supervision
  • Observe teachers in their classrooms, evaluate performance, and provide feedback.
  • Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers concerning school and student academic issues.
  • Assist in developing and implementing appropriate teaching methodologies in the classroom.
  • Serve on the Folio Administration team with MS and ES assistant principals.
  • Serve on committees that support instructional initiatives.
  • Make recommendations to improve course offerings and instructional delivery, with the goal to enhance student achievement.
  • Offer and lead professional development.
  • Instructional Coaching
  • Instructional Coaching of teachers on an ongoing basis.
  • Serve as a part of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) & Educational Policy Review Committee (EPRC).
  • Serve on the Educational Policy Review Committee sub committee.
  • Support Department Chairs with department initiatives.
  • Supervise the Campbell Hall Advanced Inquiry (CHAI) program & coordinator.
  • Student Support
  • Support students during the course add/drop period.
  • Oversee Academic Affairs Committee petition submission and review process.
  • Prepare agendas for Academic Review Committee meetings.
  • Support students studying away for a semester/year with course scheduling planning.
  • Serve on Challenge Success Team, begin leading the team year two.
  • Registrar Office Duties - in collaboration with PowerSchool Specialist
  • Database management of PowerSchool to ensure accurate and timely data flow between systems and constituents.
  • Support all official communications from the High School office and other departments including registration and back-to-school information.
  • Coordinate grade and narrative reporting process.
  • Scheduling
  • Prepare all materials for spring course scheduling in collaboration with Powerschool Specialist.
  • Work collaboratively with High School Assistant Principal and PowerSchool Specialist on electives presentations, student course requests, master schedule, and student schedules.
  • Coordinate student course add/drop process in August, September, and January.
  • Other Duties
  • Teach one semester or year-long class.
  • Chaperone at experiential education trips, class retreats, and other student life events.
  • Assist campus administration with the preparation of reports and student data information.
  • Support with hiring and onboarding of new faculty and long-term subs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
