About The Position
Position Summary: Prepares slides from surgical or autopsy material for microscopic exam by a pathologist for diagnosis. Performs routine special stains, immunohistochemical stains and cytopreparatory techniques.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histotechnology
- Current license from New York State Department of Education as either a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician (CCLT), or a Certified Histological Technician (CHT).
- High school diploma and approximately 2,000 hours in an approved hospital-based program with a certification.
