The HIV Care Program Assistant is embedded within the HIV Care Program at the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (MCDCP), an office of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position is based in Augusta, Maine. The HIV Care Program administers federal funding through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (Part B) to support low‑income Maine residents living with HIV/AIDS. The program currently serves approximately 1,200 clients and also provides select support services for individuals diagnosed with Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases. The primary responsibility of this role is to process Ryan White Part B financial assistance applications, including housing and dental assistance. The Program Assistant also collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and supports program initiatives aimed at increasing viral suppression rates across the State of Maine. Occasional in‑state and out‑of‑state travel may be required with supervisory approval.
