About The Position

Right at Home, In-Home Care office located in Watertown, CT is seeking to hire a Live-In Caregiver who possess a reliable car, drivers license, and insurance to provide Long term live-in care for a client with mild dementia and frequent limited range of motion. This client will need the following assistance: Safety supervision with ambulating and PT exercises Housekeeping, meal prep, bathroom and med reminders Great companionship and engagement are very important – client likes to be active and needs someone that will be supportive and encouraging Client may spend some time at a friend's (several hours a couple times a week) – this would be unpaid break time Caregiver (Required) Items: No exceptions · Must be 18 years of age · Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds · Must have a reliable car · Valid Driver's license and auto insurance · High School diploma or GED · Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check · Must have basic computer skills and navigate with little assistance from others Nice to Have's: CNA or HHA Certification Covid Vaccination and Booster, PPD, Flu, Hepatitis B and MMR CPR and First Aid Certification Essential Caregiver Functions: Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living. These could include (but are not limited to): Personal Hygiene Ambulation/Transfers Dressing/Shaving Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments Performs light housekeeping activities Performs patient-specific activities are taught by a Right at Home senior caregiver and/or office staff. These could include (but are not limited to): Providing hospice supportive care Medication reminders Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises Assisting with blood glucose monitoring Care of bed-bound patients Incontinence care Use lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts What You'll Do and Who You Are: The good news is that your training will teach you everything you need to know to succeed on the job. Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
Must have basic computer skills and navigate with little assistance from others
Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
Must have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
6 months experience as a Home Health Aide in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course.
