About The Position

The Aloft North Charleston is looking for a Housekeeping Inspector to ensure that all cleaned guest rooms have been property cleaned and stocked with amenities in accordance with brand standards. Responsibilities Responsible for conducting daily inspections of all areas cleaned by the Housekeeping Department including the guest rooms and public areas. Responsible for distributing any new items that are to be stocked in the guest rooms. Responsible for notifying the Maintenance Department of any necessary repairs or maintenance work via the completion of maintenance work orders or verbal communication. Assist Executive Housekeeper in conducting room attendant training to improve weak areas reflected in the individual's performance evaluations. Assist the Executive Housekeeper in completing room assignments for the Housekeepers. Responsible for serving as the Executive Housekeeper in their absence for days off, sick, vacation or other. Responsible for assisting in cleaning rooms or public areas and performing laundry functions as workload may require. Responsible for performing "other" duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of hotel, housekeeping and hotel laundry operations .
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Long hours sometimes .
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Friendly, cooperative manner and patience in dealing with customers and staff.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English with coworkers, employees, owners, and management, both written and verbally.
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions, guidelines and work objectives as set forth by the supervisor.
  • Must be able to understand the potential hazards and subsequent procedures involved in working around commercial cleaning agents and light machinery.
  • Must use common sense and integrity in ensuring the security of guest belongings while working in occupied suites.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests and co-workers.
  • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift , carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop and kneel.
  • Ability to operate light equipment such as vacuum cleaners and dishwashers.
  • Must be capable of climbing and descending stairs during their shift.
