About The Position

HR Generalist / Recruiter Transdev in El Cajon, CA is hiring a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist supports the management team with full cycle recruiting and other HR-related responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Knowledge of HR strategies and practices, including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and compensation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to draft professional correspondence and present information effectively to employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and Applicant Tracking Systems (Jobvite preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Flexible and customer-service oriented, committed to supporting employees and passengers in a professional manner.
  • Travel requirement (50%): Commute between Chula Vista and El Cajon office as needed
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable (per 49 CFR Part 40; Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, are prohibited).
  • Must submit to drug testing, and a criminal background check
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Transdev El Cajon leave program for represented and non-represented employees. This includes administering and processing leave requests and return to work protocols consistently and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, state and federal laws. Responds to employee questions or concerns regarding leave issues. Researches questions or refers to other resources for a response. Identifies and advises management of trends, problems, and issues as well as recommended course of action; informs management of new procedures and ideas for continuous process improvement. Ensures that the leave policy is being applied consistently and properly by managers and supervisors by providing proactive training and guidance. Participates and assists in the ADA interactive process when an employee informs the employer of a need for accommodation.
  • Maintaining confidentially concerning personnel actions, legal actions, and terminations.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files, including new hire EEO/AAP and onboarding documentation. Gathers information for departmental reports Completes reports as requested Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Represents the Company at Job Fairs and for varying recruitment activities
  • Full-cycle recruiting for drivers and staff: review applications, schedule and conduct interviews, and manage hiring through Jobvite. Ensures that applicants are given and pass the appropriate pre and post employment tests (e.g. position diagnostic, drug, physical)
  • Reviews and completes new hire personnel folders ensuring all paperwork is complete and filed in the correct area of the folder Archives files in accordance with procedures Monitors employees reviewing their files Maintains all personnel files, medical files, benefit files, IRCA I-9 files, etc.
  • Responds to all unemployment claim filings via unemployment insurance consulting firm. Ensure compliance with background checks, drug/alcohol screens, and E-Verify.
  • Support internal and external employee transfers Work on special projects as needed and Performs other duties as assigned
