JOB SUMMARY: Supports HRIS and Payroll teams and other leaders through research and analysis. Accountable for data integrity and reporting of the payroll and global HR system. Provides a high level of accuracy in managing data to ensure that results are precise and reliable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Demonstrate initiative and curiosity by actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and implement innovative solutions or systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work with various types of data
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of UKG System preferred
  • Experience in IBM Cognos report writing preferred or comparable reporting software required
  • Knowledge of SQR reporting or SQL preferred
  • For NewMarket, Afton or Ethyl employees, an appropriate combination of experiences that will support the required skill base may replace one or more of the specific experience requirements above.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data quality and integrity within HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring accurate and reliable information for reporting and analysis
  • Lead and support HRIS and payroll system updates, configuration changes, testing, and technology enhancements
  • Interpret complex data and convert it into clear, actionable insights while maintaining strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understand business needs and identify the data required to support effective decision‑making
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end payroll process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for all employee
  • Review and approve payroll calculations, adjustments, and changes in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain payroll records and audit data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 processing, reporting, and audit support
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and department leaders to resolve payroll discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and support cross‑functional needs
  • Supervise, train, and support staff; provide guidance on complex issues and ensure consistent application of payroll and HRIS procedures
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HRIS and payroll operations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer service
  • Provide support in other areas of HR as needed (e.g. special projects and vacation cover)
