What the job entails We are seeking an experienced and approachable Human Resources Generalist who is dedicated to supporting employees and leaders while promoting a positive and respectful workplace and ensuring compliance with employment policies and procedures. In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees across the organization, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and employment law compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong investigative, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. This position plays an important role in supporting our HR strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping foster a respectful, engaged, and productive work environment across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • BA in Human Resources or similar; or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing HR environment
  • Solid foundational knowledge of HR best practices, including talent management and compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proven coaching skills
  • The ability to organize, prioritize work, multi-task, work independently, and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using independent judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government laws
  • Polished interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Office based work, at least eight hours a day.
  • Ability to focus on a task to completion.
  • Ability to travel, possibly overnight on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a multi-state environment a plus
  • Experience using HRIS Systems in an administrator capacity—Paycom experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support managers and employees by conducting employee relations investigations, including gathering facts, interviewing involved parties, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Assist with sensitive employee relations matters including reasonable accommodation requests, investigations of policy violations or misconduct, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Partner with management to support performance management initiatives, including providing guidance on day-to-day coaching and feedback, supporting the annual performance review process, and assisting with the development and administration of employee performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Serve as a resource for employees by responding to questions and providing guidance on employment-related matters, policies, and workplace concerns.
  • Serve as a key contributor on departmental HR initiatives by driving project milestones from planning through implementation.
  • Provide input and support on the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; provide guidance and interpretation of policies to employees and managers, ensuring consistency across all levels and throughout multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and support the execution of the organization’s human resource strategy as it relates to current and future employee relation needs, retention, and succession planning.
  • Administer and support the company’s HRIS, including system maintenance, employee communication, and user training.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and makes recommendations to HR leadership.
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team with pre-employment and onboarding activities as needed.
  • Adhere to the Employee’s Responsibilities section set forth in Conco’s Safety Policies & Procedure Manual.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
