About The Position

The Part‑Time Human Resources Assistant provides essential support to the HR department by handling a wide range of administrative, compliance, training, and onboarding responsibilities. This role plays a key part in coordinating and facilitating new hire orientation, supporting employee training requirements, assisting with audits, and maintaining organized and compliant HR files and records. It is well‑suited for an early‑career HR professional with foundational experience who is motivated to advance their skills and grow within the field. The role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced healthcare or behavioral health environment.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources or an administrative role involving HR‑related tasks
  • Experience with onboarding, orientation coordination, training support, or personnel file maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate filing systems and detailed records
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or behavioral health settings preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize confidential personnel files, ensuring all documents meet regulatory and compliance standards
  • Keep employee records current in the HRIS and follow up on missing or outdated information
  • Track licensure, certifications, and required trainings to ensure timely completion
  • Assist with preparation for internal and external audits, including DBHDS, DMAS, and CARF reviews
  • Coordinate and help facilitate new hire orientation, including preparing materials and guiding employees through onboarding requirements
  • Support training activities by scheduling sessions, distributing materials, and monitoring completion
  • Contribute to internal communications by preparing announcements, updates, and informational materials for staff
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives such as recognition activities, events, and culture‑building efforts
  • Participate in HR projects that support department goals and organizational needs
  • Support recruiting by posting job openings, reviewing applications, communicating with candidates, and participating in interviews
  • Schedule interviews and manage calendar coordination for hiring managers
  • Conduct reference checks and employment verifications
