About The Position

Under direct supervision from the Office of the Associate Director. The Human Resources Division provides services in areas of benefits, compensation and classification, talent acquisition, payroll, recognition, training and development, leaves of absence, and other HR programs. The Student Assistant(s) will work directly with the Vice President and Executive Assistant to the Vice President, who will delegate day-to-day tasks and duties in the support of various Human Resources Departments. Preference will be given to those in a Human Resources field of study. Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to: - Communicate with guests via verbal, written, and electronic correspondence (i.e. answering phones, sending emails, greeting clients as they enter, etc.). - Assist with various Human Resources time sensitive projects and events. - Work closely and assist Human Resources Departments as they pertain to programming, outreach, annual projects, and other Human Resources hosted events. - Assist with clerical functions (i.e. filing paperwork, maintaining an organized working environment, etc.). - Making deliveries to university departments and programs. - Assist with digitization efforts of HR materials, ie. Personnel Files. - Assist staff with the development of informational materials including brochures, flyers, and presentations. - Assist with the organization of staff meetings and office visits such as placing catering orders, reserving rooms, and requesting parking passes. - Maintain confidentiality with students, faculty, and staff. - Complete required and compliance training assignments before the deadline. - Perform other duties as indicated in the Student Assistant classification standards. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student. Required Qualifications: Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative. Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate) Eligible to work in the United States Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
