Amentum is seeking an HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician V for our client site in Groton, CT! Hiring hourly range: $38 - $42 (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data). Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand. This position includes a competitive benefits package. As an HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including: Assisting site Leadership in the execution of all daily operations for the facilities team. Monitoring and adjusting the building HVAC and mechanical systems, acknowledging critical building alarms, and taking appropriate corrective actions and responding after hours should repairs be needed. Acting as technical expert in the areas of HVAC Providing a level of expertise in performing preventive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of industrial or commercial facility HVAC equipment. Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Operating, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment as needed. Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment. Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments. Performing preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards. Performing the functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required. Operating various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Maintaining a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment. Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead. Work in a team environment with a one team mentality; be friendly, respectful, empathetic, and professional to teammates and clients. Value and respect employee authenticity and demonstrate cultural awareness to create a memorable experience and a respectful workplace. Balance workload and multiple tasks while focusing on attention to detail and prioritizing assignments. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eight years of technical experience in any skilled trade
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, various shifts, and weekends
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Some physical requirements include:
  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs
  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
  • Walk extensively throughout the building during shift
  • Ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Experience in the operation of building management systems
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Programs.
  • Demonstrated technical background of operations in an pharmaceutical or hospital facilities environment
  • OE2, D2, S-1 or S-2 license
  • USP 797 and 897 knowledge
  • Pay based on licenses and years of experience
