About The Position

Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. We are experiencing growth and looking for an RF Engineer to join our team in Grand Prairie, TX. You will join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Center of Excellence (COE) team in Dallas to lead the design, integration, and optimization of advanced HWIL systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, calibrating, troubleshooting, operating and maintaining advanced RF HWIL systems, subsystems, and components. Additionally, they will design RF circuits, perform signal integrity measurements, analyze real-time simulation output, and manage the repair and replacement of RF subsystem components. The Staff Engineer will mentor junior team members, define technical standards, and drive complex RF HWIL projects that support critical mission testing. What You Will Be Doing Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in RF design, test, and integration, with a proven record of delivering HWIL or similar high fidelity test solutions.
  • Deep expertise operating and interpreting data from advanced RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, mixed signal oscilloscopes).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating RF circuits at microwave frequencies, including LO distribution and frequency conversion architectures.
  • Interim Secret Security Clearance is required to start this position, therefore you must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience with real time, closed loop RF HWIL simulators.
  • In depth knowledge of GPS/GNSS simulators (e.g., Spirent, BroadSim) and their integration into HWIL environments.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, delivering technical presentations, and authoring technical reports for senior leadership.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex RF HWIL platforms.
  • Design, prototype, and validate RF circuits (up converters, down converters, LO distribution networks, frequency synthesizers) for closed loop HWIL simulations
  • Conduct advanced signal integrity and performance measurements; develop test plans, analyze results, and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee analysis of real time, closed loop HWIL simulation data, performing detailed performance assessments and root cause investigations
  • Manage the repair, refurbishment, or redesign of RF subsystem components
  • Serve as technical lead on HWIL projects, coordinating with software, systems, and test teams; mentor E2/E3 engineers
