Contributes to improvement initiatives, monitors progress and provides operational support to ensure alignment with enterprise goals. By assisting with project execution and fostering collaboration across departments, the specialist plays a key role in advancing organizational performance and achieving measurable improvements in immunization outcomes. Supports the development and implementation of system-wide immunization strategic initiatives that enhance patient safety, quality, and access. This role contributes to the advancement of evidence-based standards, protocols, and policies designed to strengthen immunization practices across the system. Key responsibilities include coordinating projects, gathering and analyzing data, interpreting information, and assisting in the evaluation of outcomes. The strategist applies clinical knowledge and process improvement methods to identify opportunities for improvement and support consistent, high-quality delivery of immunization services. Collaborates with leadership, clinicians, nurses, and operational teams across all vaccinating departments. The role assists with setting and monitoring immunization performance standards, tracking progress against benchmarks and goals, and supporting reporting efforts for leadership. Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills are essential. The strategist is expected to engage in collaborative improvement work, serve as a resource to colleagues, and contribute to Sanford's culture of safety and quality. This includes participating in cross-departmental initiatives, supporting process improvement projects, and advancing organizational goals related to immunization services and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Area of focus in Nursing, Population Health, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience working with vaccines, clinical practice, public health, or healthcare operations required.
  • Experience should include leading or coordinating large scale initiatives, applying process improvement methods, and working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to improve practices and outcomes.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • If degree is in nursing, graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
